If you think you know all you need to know about social media–wake up. You don’t. Heather Lutze is an amazing guru to have at your fingertips to guide you, teach you and show you how to become a rockstar in the competive world of marketing and branding. Create a marketing campaign with Twitter. Of course. LindkedIn and Facebook–absolutely. She and her team have done transformation positioning for many–well-known and not so well-known … and she can shows you how to do it as well. The Findability Makeovers at the end of the chapters takes you through steps she did to morph several companies. Excellent resource–get it–keep it–don’t loan it out … you won’t get it back! Easy to Implement and Practical

Within an hour of picking up this book, I was able to make more headway on my social media profiles than I have made in a year. The book is well written and easy to follow. By using the action plans at the end of each chapter, I was able to “pimp” each of my social media channels with my keyword phrases that will drive my business. Being one of the top restaurant brokers in Boston, it is critical for me to have professional, cutting edge profiles that will show up ion the search engines. Heather’s instructions are step-by-step and easy to follow. They are crystal clear! My linked in profile is 100% complete and is superior to all of my competitors that sell restaurants in Boston. I highly recommend this book! In fact, I purchased 16…one for me, and 15 to give away to members of my Mastermind and Networking groups. Thanks Heather!

Lutze demystifies how to leverage social media and website content to capture page one search engine results. I was so impressed I purchased three more books for key executives in our company. A must read for doing business with today’s tech savvy, connected customer.

Heather Lutze’s Thumbonomics is exactly what it claims to be: A roadmap to social media & mobile marketing. A road map (remember those?) shows you how to get where you want to go, calls attention to major landmarks along the way, and helps orient you when you’re lost. Lutze does all this and more in this very helpful book. One of the things I most appreciate about Heather is that she’s incredibly intelligent and passionate about her subject (social media marketing, SEO, etc) and yet manages to convey that wealth of information in a format that is easily read, enjoyed, digested, and…most importantly – applied! This is a step-by-step guide. If you’re a social media marketing maven, you’ll probably find some of the early material rudimentary. Keep going – she’s just laying a foundation for the power that comes later and you’ll find a gem or two. If you’re new to social media marketing, or have been dabbling – even extensively, but without really knowing what you’re doing or why you’re doing it, this is an incredible resource and the only one you’ll need for a long time. This book is for you! Thank you Heather Lutze for putting together this guide – it’s helpful, I can use it, and it’s fun.

Before I read Heather’s books, I thought I had a pretty good handle on Internet and Mobile Marketing and Social Media. Well…there is always more to learn, especially in this ever-changing space. What I love about Thumbonomics, is it’s easy-to-read, roadmap approach, makes it simple to implement right away as your ready through the book. From chapter-to-chapter, you can go right back to your business and implement with your Team. In fact, that’s how I recommend you do it. The book is technology interactive too, meaning with a simple QR Code reader, you can immediately access resources she’s made available to you, which most writers charge for. This way you’re moving from theory to implementation in no time at all. I was first introduced to Heather, when I saw her on stage at Tony Robbins Business Mastery event in Fiji. WOW! She really captivated us and educated us. I immediately read her first book, The Findability Formula, upon returning home. Again, taking what she had taught us so well and putting it into action, so it has quantifiable meaning to my business – not, “oh, that was such a great book…” The ROI on this read is through the roof!

A must read for the CMO and anyone in marketing today.

I finished this book and thought it was absolutely dead on. If I were new to this industry and did not have a lot of knowledge about internet marketing and new technologies and processes today, I would find this book to be a wonderful resource. There is insightful information that even as a marketing professional that I would not have thought of. Currently I am developing a QR code plan that will place a product QR code on a package to direct them to our Youtube Brand Page to show video about the product so that they can see it in action, something you cannot see at point of sale. QR codes are fantastic if they direct people to dynamic content beyond a static webpage, especially if that webpage is not formatted for mobile format. Thank you so much for sharing this book and continuing to share your vast knowledge. The book is fabulous!!! I will share it with everyone I know and recommend it as a definate read for marketing professionals.

Just Get it Done in Social Media

Thumbonomics is about getting it done in Social Media. I’m in the online marketing industry, but have expertise in PPC and SEO more than social media. I’ve been hesitant to be involved with SMM, especially since it seems in flux constantly, and I have better things to do with my time than figure out every new tool out there. Heather’s book narrows down what I need to pay attention to and gives specific steps to getting it done. I try to encourage clients to live by the 80/20 rule, where 20% of the effort nets 80% of the results. In Social Media, 80% of the effort could be expended before a single lead is generated. The “Big 5” of social media – Facebook, LinkedIn, Youtube, Twitter, and Blogging – are the 80% that deserve attention. Heather does a great job of distilling how to make each one sing without devoting our lives to it. The book is an easy read – deliberately so – and there are great examples from real-life campaigns that make it both do-able and inspiring about what can be accomplished with social media, which is a LOT. Highly recommended for finally getting social media up and running in 2012.

Since I AM a beginner (M. Kutheis, not S. Kutheis as stated above) and not terribly techie I know this book is a fantastic resource for others like me. She delves into each of the social media platforms to explain the why and the how of each. She uses graphics, interviews and even QR codes to make the information come to life and aid in absorbing it all. In my view social media and mobile marketing is a mind-boggling bunch of stuff to stay on top of, but stay on top of it we must, or be invisible. Heather makes it all seem doable. No question that beginners (and maybe more) with get a ton from this book.
